Baptism
Baptism is a very important step in following Jesus. It is an outward sign of a personal decision to accept Jesus as your Lord and Saviour and a way to publicly tell others of your faith and commitment to Him. On top of that, it honours Jesus who asked all his followers to declare their love for Him in this way.
Membership
Membership is the step of commitment to our local expression of Christ’s body, the church. It is a signal to the congregation that you are “all in” and are willing to serve and identify with the rest of the local church called Calvary Church Toronto. It is a simple three step process – take our membership class, fill out the application and have an interview with one of our elders and their spouse.
Baby Dedication
There is no more precious and joyful gift in life than that of a child. At Calvary Church we highly value children and family life. One way that we can honour the institution of family is to give parents the opportunity to dedicate their children to the Lord. Hannah presented Samuel to the Lord (1 Samuel 1:28) and Jesus was presented by Joseph and Mary when He was eight days old (Luke 2:22). During His earthly ministry, Jesus often warmly received the children brought to Him. The purpose of this service is for parents to indicate that their desire is to raise their child in the training and instruction of the Lord (Ephesians 6:4). It is also an opportunity for the congregation to renew its commitment to living exemplary lives before the children and youth of the church.
Volunteering
At Calvary, we believe volunteering is an important part of the Christian life and we have many ministries which rely on volunteers. We want our volunteers to be connected to ministries that interest them using the gifts God has given. Email [email protected] and we can get you started.
